Who I am
Jon Cosson is a lifelong classic-car enthusiast based in North Yorkshire, near Thornton-le-Dale on the southern edge of the North York Moors. After a career in cyber security and IT, he has returned to a passion that runs in the family, his father was in the motor trade, and now spends his time driving, maintaining and writing about the classic cars he owns, among them a Jaguar E-Type, a Jaguar Mk2, an MG TF, an AC Aceca and a Triumph Stag. This archive grows out of his own ownership of an AC Aceca.
The archive is independent and non-commercial: nothing here is sponsored, and it is not affiliated with AC Cars Ltd.
Why I built this site
Most classic-car resources online are poorly maintained, thin, or plainly inaccurate, figures copied between sites for twenty years, myths that were never true in the first place, and pages last updated when the images were still 400 pixels wide. I wanted a single, properly researched reference for the AC Aceca and Aceca-Bristol: one place where an owner or a curious enthusiast can get the story straight.
My editorial standard
- Verified facts. Numbers, dates and technical detail are cross-checked against primary sources, club records, period road-tests, factory literature and workshop manuals, not against other websites.
- Images and their sources. Photographs on this archive are its own unless stated otherwise. Where an image comes from somewhere else, or its source is still being confirmed, that is stated with it. Anyone who believes an image is wrongly used can get in touch and it will be dealt with promptly.
- Honest about flaws as well as virtues. These cars are wonderful and they are imperfect. You'll find both here, the compromises as clearly as the strengths.
- Corrections welcomed. If you spot an error, a mis-attribution or an omission, please tell me at contact@acaceca.com. The archive gets better every time an owner writes in.
